The New Barbarians
In his 1989 book “Against the Night”, Chuck Colson used the history of the beginning of the fall of Rome to trace the dangers of radical individualism and moral relativism. He recounted the gradual incursion of northern barbarians, first geographically, then socially, and eventually even politically. Colson’s foresight was able to see the coming barbarization of America.
We have now arrived at that point in America’s experiment in representative democracy. Thanks to 50 years of infiltration into our public schools, colleges, and universities; thanks to the crafty use of our judicial system to circumvent majority values and wishes, what Colson called the New Barbarians have now breached the final wall of protection for the country – the integrity of the national election system itself.
As a result of that breach, in the span of 3 short months, because the world has become wholly dependent on the internet for critical information and personal connectivity, the oligarchs of technology have taken control. Aside from Newsmax and a few recent online news sites, without exception, and including Fox News, broadcast networks, cable networks and social media platforms effectively overthrew a duly elected president of the United States. It is bad enough that they have begun vaporizing, with total impunity, any expressions of opinion which oppose the party line, but they have actually begun shutting down vital information services – Parler being the first to succumb to their repressions.
It is impossible to know at this point in time how extensive the autocracy of the Left will endure in Congress and the White House. Frankly, there are very limited options left for freedom. Other than conservative judges appointed by President Trump to federal district courts, the judicial system seems uninterested and is all but impotent. Politically speaking, it looks grim for the immediate future. Conservative representatives and senators are now being targeted for censure and a few democrats have called for their expulsion. Following the practices of every despotic government in history and in the present, a cultural and political purging is now in full blossom.
Patriots still have a few options however. Remember these names, ignore their claims of fact or opinion, refuse to help perpetuate their tenure in office, and share them far and wide: Liz Cheney, John Katco, Adam Kinzinger, Fred Upton, Jaime Herrera Beutler, Dan Newhouse, Anthony Gonzalez, Tom Rice, David Valadao, and Peter Meijer. These are the 10 republicans who just voted for the weaponization of the impeachment process against Donald Trump. In doing so, these 10 have revealed their contempt for the president and for the millions and millions of voters across the nation who had placed their trust in the electoral system and the integrity of our federal leadership – a leadership who, to a person, have sworn to defend the Constitution of the United States and to protects us from adversaries both foreign and domestic.
