This Is How Michigan Treats a Polish Escapee From Communism and Small Business Owner
At 5:45am, March 19th, 2021, Marlena Pavlos-Hackney was arrested by Michigan State Police, under the direct authority of the Attorney General, for noncompliance of regulations issued by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) after Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s pandemic actions were ruled unconstitutional by Michigan’s Supreme court. In the first hearing, Judge Wanda Stokes of the 30th Judicial Circuit Court in Ingham County, invoked MDARD regulations with which Marlena was not compliant as if they were statute law.
Marlena was arrested for contempt of court under the direct supervision of Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, for not honoring Judge Stokes’ bench warrant. The bench warrant was issued and executed even though the state had chosen not to prosecute.
Ingham County judge Rosemarie Aquilina refused to offer bail and scolded Marlena as self-serving and acting for the sake of gaining publicity. Marlena was completely shackled, cuffed, and chained at the waist. Her employees and supporters have since been forced to literally board up the business and send pictorial proof of the eyesore to both the A.G.’s office and to Judge Aquilina before she would even be considered for release.
